Mnemonic City Lisbon

Mnemonic City is an arts project which aims to creatively re-frame experiences of geography and memory. The project has to date been staged in various locations in London, Madrid and Florence. On the weekend of the 21st of August 2015, Mnemonic City will be exhibiting at the Barbican Centre in London and Mnemonic City: Lisbon will take place in September 2015 with a series of exhibitions and events throughout the month. Partners in the London project are Lab Film Projects, Something Human and Open Vizor. Partners in the Lisbon project are Roundabout.LX, Something Human and Visual Container.

Mnemonic City is an arts project which aims to creatively re-frame our experience of a geography.
The core idea of Mnemonic City, a city of memories, is for artists to investigate and respond to a location in terms of its creative and emotional resonance, working both individually and collectively to present resulting artworks which re-frame the location. Inspired by movements such as Situationism and Psychogeography, each Mnemonic City project starts with a series of collective walks that form the basis of the research and development for new artworks.

Visualcontainer is invited to present a videoart selection at the Konvent Festival in Catalunya, Spain. The Festival is organized by Konvent independent artist collective actives for many years in the territory and located in an abandoned convent in Cal Rosal.
This year the festival is dedicated to the ten-year career of unique experiences, challenges, performance art, experimental music and cultural events ch esi overlap with the Catalan territory.

The 8th edition of the International Festival of Video Art PROYECTOR will take place simultaneously in Madrid, Milan (ITA), Madrid (E), Coimbra (P), Oaxaca (Mex), Jaén,(E), Quito (ECU) from 10 to 27 September 2015.
139 SPACES + 5 COUNTRIES + 100 INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS + 3.000 m²
A year marked by a call with more than 200 works in video art competition and a wide variety of languages (from single and multichannel video
dance, performance, video, installations, interactive video, videomapping …) of which were selected 23 works.
PROYECTOR continues to maintain its connotation multi-site through a festival spread throughout the city of Madrid and simultaneously in the city of Milan ( [. BOX] Video Art Project plan 10 to 20 September ), Coimbra, Oaxaca, Jaen, Quito that host the selection of PROYECTOR Festival in a global opening 10 to 27 September.
Visualcontainer as partner of PROYECTOR was invited to present a videoart selection. The partnership between PROYECTOR Festival and Visualcontainer – [.BOX] Milan, continues for several years aiming to promote cultural exchanges and best cooperative practices between Italian, Spanish and international video art.
The video selection is presented to Intermediæ (MATADERO) in Madrid on 18 September 2015.
